Joyce D. Lindsay, 78, formerly of Spring City, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at CHI Memorial Hospital in Hixson, Tennessee.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1944, to the late Malcolm and Tennie Thomas Dickson. Joyce was a graduate of Spring City High School. She then later attended nursing school at Erlanger Nursing School and worked over 45 years with the Tennessee Department of Health until her retirement. Joyce had a servant’s heart. She cared for others and enjoyed spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. Joyce was a member at Dayton Church of Christ.

Joyce was also preceded in death by her brothers Ken and Jack Dickson.

Survivors include her daughter Meggan Lindsay of Dayton, Tn.; her sister Norma Hinds of Rockwood, Tn.; and her granddaughter Gabrielle Rios of Dayton, Tn.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Minister Steve Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, from 12-2 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
