Frances Hill
Frances “Mel” Hill, 86, of Spring City, Tennessee died on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at her residence.
She was born on December 19,1936 to the late Everett and Rosie Whisman Short. Mel worked in various textile industries and was a secretary for TVA- Watts Bar. She loved to square dance and go on Carnival Cruises. Mel also like to go shopping. She was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church.
Mel is also preceded in death by her husband Guyman Hill; her brothers Arthur (Jimmy) Short, Everett Short Jr., Harlas Short, and Ester (Cotton) Short; and her sisters Arkie Huff and Dovie Hill.
Survivors include her children Terry Hill and Jeff (Brenda) Hill both of Spring City, Tennessee and Troy (Lisa) Hill of Evensville, Tennessee; her sisters Patsy Neal and Wilma Lawson both of Dayton, Tennessee, Irene Saylor of Holmes Mills, Kentucky, and Janet Anderson of Evarts, Kentucky; her brother Dennis Short of Middlesboro, Kentucky; her grandchildren Ticey Massengale, Michelle Hill, Jared Hill, Kecia Cranfill, Whitley Coxey, and Garrett Hill; and her great grandchildren Eli and Shelby Massengale, Vivian Cranfill, Jeb Coxey, Porter Coxey, Brooks Hill, and Lucy Coxey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
