Longtime CNA Was Known For Her Crafts, Cooking, And Coloring

Sandra “Gail” Braxton, 77, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Sandra was a long-time resident of Lookout Valley. She was employed by NHC of Chattanooga as a CNA for 25 years, before retirement in 2007. Sandra was known for her love of crafts, cooking, and coloring.

Sandra was the daughter of the late Joddie and Dorothy Pryor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert D. Braxton of 43 years and her brother Kelly David Pryor.

Survivors include her children; Sherry (Bobby) Nichols, Traci (James) Harrison; grandchildren; Jessica (Kevin) McDaniel, Jamie Moore, and Brittany (Tristan) Smith; great grandchildren; Clain and Palmer McDaniel, Easton and Ellie Smith, James Brent Moore, and John Brady McDaniel. She also has several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson, with Rev. Larry Meade officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens West, with James Harrison, Kevin McDaniel, Jody Pryor, Billy Hamblen, Ricky Williamson and Alex Williamson serving as pallbearers.

Family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
