James Lowell Blevins, 85, of Rossville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Lowell was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Meade-Evans Life Group Sunday School Class.
Lowell was a home builder in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area for many years before joining T U Parks Construction Company where he retired in 2004.
Lowell’s love of Family, Lord and Gospel Music was his life. 60 years of marriage to the love of his life Linda and their ministry together impacted all who knew him. He never missed an opportunity to sing for the Lord that had blessed him with incredible talent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Pauline Madaris Blevins; siblings, Dickie Blevins, Jean Allen and twin brother, Lonnie Blevins.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Eslinger Blevins; two sons, James Blevins (Cari) of Signal Mountain, and Duane Blevins of Nashville; two grandsons, Jay and Jack Blevins; brother, Tommy (Lynn) Blevins of Lafayette; sister, Karen (James) Goforth of Ringgold; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Brainerd Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, and from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Brainerd Baptist Church 300 Brookfield Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37411.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brainerd Baptist Church Mission Fund.
