Evelyn B. Taylor
Evelyn B. Taylor went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 26, 2024, after a brief illness.
Evelyn was born on May 19, 1937, to the late Charles and Beatrice Johnson Baker.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert L. Taylor, Sr., brothers, Herbert Baker, Edward Baker, Charles Baker, Jr., Gerald Baker and grandson, Malik Blackstock.
She was a dedicated member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for several years.
Prior to retirement, she was employed at Whole Foods, Pruett’s Food Town, along with several local restaurants.
She was a devoted mother and wife and love for her family was consistently exhibited. You always knew where she stood on any topic and she was well known for her insightful thoughts. She loved watching game shows and mystery movies. Cooking for her family was also one of her delightful traits as she would look forward to Christmas Eve at her home where she would prepare a feast for her family. Also, one of her most prideful moments was having great discussions with her grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her four children, Beverly (Charles) Tinker, Cynthia Taylor, Albert Taylor, Jr. , and Lisa Taylor. She is also survived by her sister, Jo Ann Sanders, grandchildren; LaKisha Odum, Antuan Howell, Chuck (Jenn)Tinker and Jordan Trice, loving cousin Juanita Hobbs, devoted daughter-in-law Charlene Taylor, several nieces, nephews and two great -grandchildren.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at CHI Memorial Hospital who provided her care during her illness.
Also, a very special thank you to the Bethlehem Baptist Church family~Pastor Mike and Sister Flossie Lacy, many friends and family that have extended their prayers and support during our time of bereavement.
