Bishop Kenneth Benjamin Bolton
Bishop Kenneth Benjamin Bolton, age 88, of Sale Creek, passed on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
He was born in Orme Mountain, TN, on June 4, 1936, the son of the late George Frank Bolton and Gracie Louella “Polly” (Talley) Bolton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Bolton, and his sister, Joyce Daniel.
Pastor Bolton served 13 churches over his lifetime with his latest pastorate of 25 years at Sale Creek Church of God in Sale Creek, TN, then remained as Pastor Emeritus for 17 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pastor, and friend to all who knew him. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and being in nature with his family. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed being with them immensely. Above and before all things, his love for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, was paramount in his life. He is presently with his Lord and those who have gone before him. His joy is complete.
Pastor Bolton is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna Margaret (Nelson) Bolton of Sale Creek; his sons, Harold Benjamin Bolton of Chattanooga, and Bishop Terry Wayne (Alisa) Bolton of Sale Creek; his daughter, Linda Gale Bolton of Hixson; his grandchildren, Stephanie Lauren Bolton, Caleb Ragan (Heather) Bolton, Taylor O’Neal (Chappell) Bolton, McKenzie LaShee’ (Zach) Keylon; his great-grandchildren, Adeline Davis Sorrell, Ellanor Sorrell, Charlotte Bolton, Henry Bolton, Lakelynn Keylon, Layne Keylon; his special nephew, Troy Bolton; and his nieces.
Funeral services for Pastor Bolton will be at Sale Creek Church of God on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Darrell Nunley, Bishop Julian Robinson, and Bishop Tim Hill officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 5–8 p.m. and on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens after the service.
