Russell “Lamar” Cox, 80, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024.

He was a resident of Georgetown, Tn. and of the Baptist faith. Lamar was employed with Dupont for over 40 years. He was a true family man and adored spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved watching westerns and wrestling.

Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jewel Cox; brother, Jerry Cox, and granddaughter, Tiffany Cox.

He is survived by his children, Edward Cox, Amy Newby (Wayne), Jeff Cox and Trent Cox (Taylor Bottoms); grandchildren, Nelson Coffman, Kevin Coffman (Shelby), Jeffrey Cox, Amanda Cox and Creed Newby (Chloe); great-grandchildren, Brianna Coffman, Mason Coffman and Carter Lamar Coffman, as well as granddaughter-in-law, Paige Coffman.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home in Chattanooga. A graveside service will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, at 12 p.m. CST at Haley's Grove Cemetery in Crab Orchard, Tn. with Pastor Michael Lindon officiating.
