Glenn Lee Akins, 76, a lifelong resident of Harrison, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

He was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Dill Akins. Glenn was a truck driver, retiring from Benton Oil Company after several years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and watching NASCAR. Glenn was a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Akins; two sons, James and Robert Catchings and five siblings, Annie Jo Neely, Ronnie Akins, Nicky Akins, Curtis Akins and Eddie Akins.

Glenn is survived by his son, David (Gay) Catchings, Sr.; daughters, Donna (Mike) McDowell and Pat (Glen) Creech; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy Harris, Raymond Akins, Becky Tallent, Clark Akins, Wayne Akins and Robert Akins, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, in the funeral home chapel with Michael McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Holder Memorial Cemetery (formerly Gamble Road Baptist Church Cemetery).
