EPB Window Photos Bring Back Christmas Memories

  • Saturday, November 30, 2024

Thank you so much for the EPB Christmas windows photographs.

When I was a child the EPB at 6th and Market was always THE much anticipated place to visit at night and view the marvels of the creations from Market, up 6th Street and around onto Cherry Street.

It was a much simpler time then…The Christmas season arrived in Chattanooga for me with the Christmas parade bringing Santa and the beautiful window displays of the EPB, Miller Bros, and Loveman’s…along with the Nativity scene on the outside mezzanine level centered above the main doors of Miller’s anchoring, year after year, gently reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas.

Much effort, time, and money went into these elaborate windows that even adults, with no kids in tow, stopped transfixed by what the idyllic Christmas was and, for a moment or two …rich or poor… reminisced with their own thoughts of Christmases past or present before mentally returning to the their real world and going on their way…

Beautiful pictures. Thank you again to the photographer memories of the past.
