Paul Dean Patterson, Jr., 63, of Hixson passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his beloved family.

Paul was a dedicated carpenter, known for his hard work and skill in building homes that would stand the test of time. His commitment to his craft was rivaled only by his love for the outdoors, where he found joy in hunting, fishing, and swimming in the creek. Paul was a loving father, son, and “Papaw,” whose steadfast honesty was a hallmark of his character. His word was as reliable as the structures he built; anyone who knew him knew they could always count on him.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Smith, and his daughter, Jennifer Ann Patterson.

He leaves behind his son, Zachary Dean Patterson, and Zachary’s fiancée, Brittany Renae; his father, Paul Dean Patterson Sr.; his girlfriend and her son, Regina and Adam Troupe; his sister, Charlotte Ann Green; and his cherished grandchildren, Aralynn, Paxton, Joshua, and Jayslynn; and the mother of his children, Sherry Patterson. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.

Paul’s presence will be missed, but his legacy of honesty, hard work, and love for family and nature will live on in all who knew him.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, in Johnson Cemetery with Bro. David Hixson officiating.

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37379, 423 843-2525.
