Marlyn E. Robinson
Marlyn E. Robinson, 84, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Lucille Howell, his first wife of 43 years, Lou Mothershed Robinson, daughter, Constance Robinson Hinkle, brother, Gary Howell and sister Doris Howell Fletcher.
Marlyn retired as a truck driver with Roadway with over 25 years of service and a two million mile safe driving record. Marlyn was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Saratoga. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish and hunt. He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Johnnie Robinson, of Ooltewah, three daughters, Kim Robinson Settle (Tom), of Birmingham, Rebecca Robinson, of Ooltewah, Vicki Bennett, of Chattanooga, five grandchildren, Courtney, Zachary, Cara, Hunter, Caleb, 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Linda VanCleave, of Maumelle, Ar., sister-in-law, Susan Howell, of Kennewick, Wa., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Zachary Settle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home.
