The Chief John Ross Chapter held their December meeting at Beyond the Garden Gate Tea Room in East Ridge.

"The ladies were thrilled to learn they made Mrs. Claus’ (Mrs. Jo Schendel) good list this year. They worked so hard to be patriotic, preserve historical preservation and promote education and were so happy to hear the news," officials said. "Mrs. Claus congratulated everyone and read a Christmas story to the group. Some ladies needed proof they were on the good list and documented the occasion with a photo of Mrs.
Claus. It was a wonderful afternoon of fun and fellowship. Chapter members also received a flag ornament, a goodie bag and their paper America 250! Patriot ornament."

Chapter members donated books to share with the children of the Maclellan Shelter. The books will be shared during the 2nd Annual Winter Wonderland literacy promotion this Saturday with Reading Changes Lives.
