Danny L. Dodd, 78, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Friday, December 6, 2024.
He was born to Frank and Elma Dodd on August 8, 1946, in Fentress County, Tn. Danny was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University where he earned an electrical engineering degree. He served in the U.S. Army for three years where he spent 11 months overseas during the Vietnam War. Danny retired from TVA after 28 years as an electrical engineer. After retirement, he spent his days spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, listed above.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patsy Dodd; daughter, Amy (Troy) Cox; granddaughters, Alexis (Justin) Moore and Brooke Cox; great-grandchildren, Greyson Cox, Maci Moore, and Huttson Cox; sister, Patricia Dodd Ledbetter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Danny will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, P.O. Box 9, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5351 TN-153, Chattanooga, Tn. 37343.
