Adamae "Cissie" Hackworth
Adamae "Cissie" Hackworth, 97, passed away peacefully at her health care facility on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Cissie was known for her love of God, church, family, friends, and was a faithful lifelong member of O.L.P.H. Catholic Church.
She graduated from Northwestern University as a dental hygienist and would remain in that profession until her retirement in 1988.
Cissie was preceded in death by her husband, William Hackworth, Sr.; parents, William Dean and Irene Thomas; brother, Bill Thomas; son, Billy Hackworth Jr.; daughter, Vickie Bennett.
She is survived by grandchildren, Hunter (Samantha) Hackworth of Lebanon, Tn., Trey (Lauren) Bennett of McMinnville, Tn., Megan (Chris) Buckner of Bakersville, NC, Travis Wilson of Columbus, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Ava, Sophia and Camden Hackworth, Emily and Sydney Bennett.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Shirley Trotter for taking total responsibility for the care and needs of their grandmother; her caregiver, Louise Shipley and her friend, Jonie Hotchkiss.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Father Zach Griffith officiating.
