Billy Floyd Perritt, 75, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away at home on Friday, May 24, 2024, surrounded by love.

Billy was born in Morehead City, NC, on May 27, 1948, the son of the late Henry Floyd Perritt and Amanda Taylor Perritt. A devoted follower of Jesus, Billy made it his mission to ensure everyone he met had the opportunity to know his Lord and Savior. He proudly served in the United States Navy and had a lifelong passion for aviation, reflected in both his career and personal life. Billy retired from FRC East after many years of service, then continued his career at Prestige Transportation, and later went on to own BP Aviation. He was a talented pilot and master aircraft mechanic, honored with The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award in August 2021.

In addition to his parents, Billy WAs preceded in death by his grandson, Scott Cessna, and his siblings, Sarah Perritt La Croix, Ray Perritt, and Arlene Vinson.

Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor, known for his selflessness and wisdom. His life was marked by his genuine love for people and his ability to make others feel truly valued. Though short in stature, Billy was a giant in character and integrity. His humility allowed him to laugh at his own mistakes and own up to his shortcomings, setting an example for all who knew him.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of fifty-seven and a half years, Faye Edwards Perritt; his three devoted daughters, Christine Foreman (Tommy), Patricia Daughtry (Nathan), and Rebecca Rains; his cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Zack Foreman, Jordan and Taylor Daughtry, and Aidan, Addy, and Anson Rains; his brother, Jesse Phillip Perritt; and extended family members, Spencer, Spence, and Rhett Morgan.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Beaufort, NC.
