James Solomon Pryor
James Solomon Pryor, 73, was born on December 27, 1950, to the late Florine B. Hill and James Solomon Pryor, Sr. He passed away on June 1, 2024.
He attended Riverside High School. He is a veteran of the United States Army and Navy. Upon completion of his service in the Army he then enlisted in the Navy. Upon completion of his military duties, he joined the workforce. He worked at the Sheraton Hotel, the Mountain City Country Club, Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club, and the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center over the past forty years.
James was the adventurous sibling of the four boys. During his high school days, he developed an interest in martial arts. He loved dressing nicely, driving different cars, dancing, and working in the food service industry. He also enjoyed telling life stories.
Preceding him in death were his parents and stepfather, Willie Hill.
His spiritual journey will allow him to live in eternal peace.
Those to cherish his precious memory are his brothers, Joe C. O’Neal, Johnny O’Neal of Chattanooga, and Toney L. Barker of Kansas City, KS; aunts, Ruby Patrick and Marshaneil (George) Thompson of Chattanooga; niece, Kasey (Antonio) Hill and nephew, Terry Young, both of Chattanooga; a host of cousins in Chattanooga and Lexington, KY and many friends.
Public viewing will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday, June 10, followed by a noon funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home.
Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. gate time at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
