George Earl Clayton, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, went home to be with our Lord on June 30th, 2024. He was 83.

George worked for Nortons for 40+ years of his life. He also loved wood working and working around outside. George was a Christian and loved God with all his heart.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Sylvia Clayton; his in-laws, Robert and Ruby Smith; brothers, Gene Clayton, Larry Clayton and Ronnie Clayton; sister, Carolyn Clayton; great-grandson, Bentley Young.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Brenda Clayton; brother, David (Linda) Clayton; sister-in-law, Janice Clayton; brother-in-law, Evon (Linda) Smith; daughters, Tonya (Greg) Trantham and Melissa Gregory; grandchildren, Zach (Leah) Wilson, Cameron Gregory, Kayla (Josh) Morgan, Brittany (Ben) Young, Beverly (Drake) Hatfield; great-grandchildren, Oakland Wilson, Brennan and Braylee Young and Harmony and Henley Hatfield; and a host of much loved nieces and nephews and extended family.

The family will host a visitation on Friday, July 5, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Greg Trantham officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens at 3 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Odas Smith, Robert Smith, Trey Smith, Eric Mathis, Zach Wilson, Cameron Gregory and Jake Hale.

The family would like to thank the staff at Parkridge Hospital for their care of our husband and dad.
