Charles H. “Mr. Charlie” Morton
Charles H. “Mr. Charlie” Morton, 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
He was born in McMinville, Tennessee, to parents, Leon and Vera Morton.
Charlie attended both East Side Jr. High and Kirkman Technical High School. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
He was avid reader and his favorite author was Stuart Woods. Charlie started working at Buehler’s Market at 17 as a bag boy. He worked his way up to the manager’s position and in 1988 he purchased Buehler’s Market. His family says you would always see him with a cup of coffee and a cigarette.
Charlie was a hard-working man who loved his family dearly.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Vera Morton; 3 older brothers, Robert, John Henry and Barto.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Barbara Morton; daughter, Angie (David) Bishop; granddaughter, Megan Bush; sisters, Brenda (Dwight) Sadler and Frances Smith; nieces and nephews, Lisa (William) Clark, Tina (Brandon) Pennell, Sarah (Donald) Lucas, Charlotte Sadler (Bruce Tilman) and Steve Plemons, and other extended family members; and his best friend, Bret Douglas.

A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, from 4–8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 9, from 11 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
