Clifford “Wayne” Keylon joined his heavenly baseball team on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at his home in Harrison, Tennessee.

He was born in Rockwood, Tn., on Sept. 13, 1944. Wayne graduated from Red Bank High School where he excelled in baseball. He received his ministerial certification from Global University and his ministerial ordination from the Assemblies of God. He was employed by Dupont in Chattanooga for 13 years before accepting the position of founding executive director of Teen Challenge of Chattanooga in 1978, now known as Adult & Teen Challenge of the MidSouth. Wayne served as president of Adult & Teen Challenge USA from 1994-1999, He served with Convoy of Hope from 1999-2000 and on staff of Living Free in Chattanooga from 1999-2002. He served as founder and president of the Transformation Project, a jail ministry in Chattanooga, from 2002-2013. Wayne served as a ministry consultant for Living Free from 2013 until his retirement in 2021.

Wayne was an amazing and strong faith-filled man. His love for God and family was very evident. He lived to love God, love family, and love people. His motto was, “No Regrets, No Reverse, and No Reserves.” He lived life to its fullest. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially participating in the Senior Olympics in the sports of basketball, softball and horseshoes. He loved his Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves.

Wayne was a member of Grace Pointe Assembly in Hixson. He served as a U.S. missionary for more than 40 years. His life verse was Isaiah 40:31, “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.”

He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Evelyn Keylon and his brother, Tony Keylon.

Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Wanda Frankie Langford Keylon; daughter, Sheri Keylon Kelley (Greg) of Hixson; son, Gregory W. Keylon (Ann) of Harrison; four grandchildren: Matthew Kelley (Ashley), Jared Kelley, Nathan Keylon (Meagan), Caleb Keylon (Sydney); one great-grandchild, Persie E. Keylon; three sisters, one brother, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Two visitation opportunities will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, and 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, at Grace Pointe Assembly, 6613 Hixson Pike, Hixson, with the Home Going Celebration beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Grace Pointe Assembly. A graveside service will be held after the Home Going Celebration at Chattanooga Memorial Park in Redbank (501 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga).
