Anna Mae Clift Skates
Anna Mae Clift Skates, 88, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on July 30, 2024, after an extended period of illness, with family at her bedside.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Clift, her husband Robert Homer Skates, siblings Robert Clift, Charles Clift, Geraldine Lusk, Dorothy Keith as well as her son, Raymond Harold Skates.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Patti Skates, Marty (Diana) Skates, Carolyn (Steve) Bradley, step children Lorraine, Minnie, and Perry, grandchildren Angie (Mike) Dunn, Pamela (Daniel) Beeler, Andrea (Adam) Mitts, Michael (Amber) Skates, Stephanie Bradley, Tommy (Amanda) Skates, Aaron Skates, Shelley Skates and Abby Skates, great grandchildren Taylor and Farin, and other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews from extended family.
Anna Mae retired from Guardian Alarms. In her various jobs she had traveled to 45 of the 48 continental states. During her retirement she enjoyed word search and crossword puzzles, watching her t.v. shows and reading.
Anna Mae loved all of her family and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was very appreciative of anyone who cared for her. She was known as “Mom” to many, and Ganny by her favorites.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hearth Hospice, Jessica, Sherry and additional staff.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy.
