Jared Melson of The Bear Trace of Tims Ford shot a two-day total of 7-under 137 to win the Tennessee Senior PGA Championship on Tuesday at Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough.
Melson posted a 3-under 69 in his final round with four birdies to win by one shot over first-round leader Chris Woods of Johnson City Country Club and Bobby Cochran of Colonial Country Club in Germantown, both of whom finished at 6-under 138.
Crossville’s Greg Wyatt of Golf Capital Learning Center was fourth at 4-under 140 as the top four finishers qualified for the 2024 Senior PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac to be held Sept. 26-29 at Oregon’s Sunriver Resort.
The next four on the leaderboard were named alternates for the event, including Kelvin Burgin (3-under 141) of The Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain, Council Fire Club’s Chris DeBusk (2-under 142), Kevin Snell of The Tennessee Golf Trail at Henry Horton (1-under 143) and Allen Fennell of The Tennessee Golf Trail at Warriors Path (1-under 143).
