“Safe in the Arms of Jesus” is what her headstone will say as Merlyn Belle Lindley, 100, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Thrive at Brow Wood Assisted Living.

Merlyn was a former member of the Mountain View Presbyterian Church and was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Winston A. Lindley.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Patricia) Lindley and her daughter, Joan (David) Stanton, grandchildren, Nathan (Jerri) Lindley, Matthew (Maggie) Lindley, Daniel Lindley, Michael Lindley, Stephen (Sarah) Lindley, Rachel (Alan) Bloodworth, Melissa (Philip) Long and Aaron (Joy) Stanton, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A special thank you to the staff of Thrive at Brow Wood Assisted Living for their care, kindness and dedication.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Eric Duble officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make any Gift of Remembrance to Covenant College, 14049 Scenic Highway, Lookout Mountain, Ga. 30750.
