Baylor Remains Atop TSWA DII-AAA Prep Football Poll

The Tennessee Sports Writers Association announced football rankings after Week 3 on Monday, with the poll presented by CoachT.com. Top 10 teams in each of the six Division I classifications and Top 5 in three Division II classes were selected by TSWA members with first-place votes in parentheses and total points based on 10 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 10th-place vote.

As for local teams, in Class 1A, Whitwell (3-0) held firm at no. 4 and South Pittsburg (2-1) at no. 7, while Chattanooga Prep (2-1) climbed one spot up to no. 9. In Cass 2A, Marion Co. (3-0) is up two spots to tie for second with Milan (3-0) and Bledsoe Co. (3-0) is up one position to no. 5.

Meigs Co. (3-0) moved up one to no. 4 in Cass 3A, while Sequatchie Co. (2-1) improved two spots to no. 7.  In Class 4A, Signal Mountain (3-0) gained one spot up to no. 9. In Claas 5A Walker Valley (3-0) tumbled four spots from no. 4 to no. 8, while cross county rival Cleveland (3-0) moved up two spots in Class 6A from no. 7 to no. 5.

Boyd Buchanan (3-0) remained at no. 2 in Division II-AA, one point behind Christ Presbyterian. Baylor (3-0) stayed atop Division II-AAA, while McCallie (2-1) dropped one to no. 3.
