Sheila Denise Hardeman Grier, of East Ridge, Tennessee, died peacefully in her home on January 3, 2025, at the age of 67.

Born on Jan. 23, 1957, in Lima, Ohio, to Glenn Bernard Hardeman and Juanita Smith Schultz, Sheila moved to the Chattanooga area as a teenager. She completed her GED prior to working in a variety of sales and service roles in the automotive industry throughout the greater Chattanooga area for 40 years.

Sheila was a devoted mother to her two sons, Eric, 47, and Adam, 41. She was a doting grandparent to Eric’s son, Lennon Daniel, 23, and Adam and Lorraine’s daughters Jo Anna Leigh, 3, and Hannah Grace, 1.

In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated.

Celebration of Life Service:
Sheila professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Therefore, while we lament her departure from this Earthly realm, we are also celebrating her ascent to Heaven. We invite those who knew and loved Sheila to join us for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the Bluff View Inn, 411 E 2nd St., Chattanooga, Tn. 37403. Light hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided and we ask you to consider wearing bright colors and patterns that remind you of her unique style. Further, we ask you to add a fond memory or a favorite song to her Facebook page.

Sheila loved cats and flowers, especially, lavender, orchids, and roses. While we welcome flowers in her memory, we are planning to donate most flowers after the service so if you send flowers, please ensure they are a manageable size. Alternatively, since Sheila loved cats so much, we welcome donations to the McKamey Animal Center in her honor.

Survivors include her two sons Eric Daniel Grier (47) and Adam Michael Grier (41) and Adam’s wife Lorraine Michelle Grier (40) as well as Malcolm Daniel “Danny” Grier the father of her sons. Sheila had one grandson, Lennon Daniel Grier (23), and two granddaughters, Jo Anna Leigh Grier (3) and Hannah Grace Grier (1). Sheila is survived by her two sisters, Linda Anita Hardeman Johnson and Cindy Anne Williams, and her brother, Bernard “Bernie” Eugene Schultz.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents Glenn Bernard Hardeman and Juanita Smith Schultz and two of her brothers, Gary Bernard Hardeman, and Randall “Randy” Levine Hardeman.
