Douglas “Doug” S. Holcomb, 77, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was a proud member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge #603, F&AM, and the American Legion. He dedicated more than 33 years of service as a skilled diesel mechanic and electrician for CARTA.

An avid outdoorsman, Doug found joy in nature and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog. He was also a passionate Tennessee Vols fan—Go Vols!

Doug was born to the late Herman and Earline Holcomb. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Pat Holcomb; his son, Zack Holcomb, and daughter-in-law, Lori Holcomb; his daughter, April Bailey, and her husband, Rodney Bailey; his grandsons, Hayden Holcomb, John David Holcomb, and Emory Holcomb; his great-grandson, Hudson Holcomb; his sister, Angie Dillon, and her husband, Arnold; and his faithful black Labrador, Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery, including military honors.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Educational Society.
