The Appearance Of Impropriety

  • Friday, January 17, 2025

Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones proposed to prohibit lawmakers’ spouses or children from lobbying at Tennessee’s capitol, alluding to state Senator Bo Watson, R-North Chattanooga, whose wife Babbi Nicole is a prominent lobbyist. This should be a no brainer, but Jones’ proposal failed in the Republican majority house.

Senator Watson should stop this himself without being forced to. This certainly gives the appearance of impropriety.

Watson says he and his wife don’t discuss state business. Sure.
