Nancy W. Bennett, 76, went home to be with Lord on January 17, 2025.

Nancy was born a Leap Year baby on February 29, 1948 to Cy and Fae Whaley in Knoxville, Tn.

She attended South High School and earned degrees in both Education and Music from the University of Tennessee. Nancy then blessed many elementary school children as their music, fifth grade teacher or school librarian for 30 years.

She loved her Brainerd Baptist Church Journey Sunday School family and looked for any opportunity to help friends or those in need by spreading the Lord’s “joy”.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Cy and Fae Whaley.

Left behind to cherish Nancy’s memory is her daughter, Kimberly Bennett Roberts, her sister, Carolyn Batten and her dear friends.

A receiving of friends and family will take place at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 4–6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contribution in Nancy’s memory be made to Brainerd Baptist Church.

Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaEastChapel.com

Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, 404 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
