Vora Emily Eisenman Heintz
Vora Emily Eisenman Heintz, born June 27, 1938, in Forest Grove, Oregon, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by her beloved family. She was 86.
On June 9, 1962, Vora married the love of her life, Thomas Eugene Heintz. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and shared values. Their partnership spanned over four decades until Thomas’s passing on July 20, 2004. Vora carried his memory in her heart for the rest of her days and now joins him in eternal peace.
Vora’s life was a testament to passion, purpose, and unwavering generosity. She dedicated herself to her family and her community with unparalleled commitment, enriching the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind her three devoted sons and their wives: Gary R. Heintz (Glenda), John E. Heintz (Marian), and Thomas D. Heintz (Elizabeth), as well as eight cherished grandchildren: Karl, Amy, Nick, Christopher, Jarod, Justin, and Joseph, and two great grandchildren, Evie and Jack.
A true daughter of the Pacific Northwest, Vora cherished Oregon and its rich natural beauty. Deeply connected to her pioneer heritage, she felt a profound responsibility to preserve the state’s resources and history for future generations. From the lush forests to the rugged coastline, Vora found solace and inspiration in Oregon’s landscapes, often weaving tales of the region into her cherished stories. She took great pride in her family’s roots and their contributions to the state’s history, embodying the pioneering spirit in her determination and generosity.
A natural leader and mentor, Vora devoted countless hours to running her sons’ 4 H groups, instilling values of service and leadership in generations of young people. Her involvement in civic projects showcased her dedication to the betterment of her community. Among the many accolades she received throughout her life, Vora was especially proud of being honored with a prestigious Humanitarian Award, recognizing her unwavering commitment to helping those less fortunate.
Faith was a cornerstone of Vora’s life. As a devoted parishioner, she served her faith communities at Christ the King Catholic Church in Milwaukie, Oregon, and later at her parish in Chattanooga.
Vora’s legacy will be fondly remembered through her captivating storytelling, which brought people together and offered a glimpse into her passionate and vibrant soul. In her later years, she found joy in solving puzzles, cherishing the company of family, and sharing her stories with loved ones.
Vora’s enduring legacy is one of love, generosity, and a deep commitment to uplifting others. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched.
A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Vora’s life at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends in the Holy Family Hall at the church prior to the mass beginning at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 501 S. Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37412.
