The Moccasin Bend Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their monthly meeting at the First-Centenary United Methodist Church. The speaker for this meeting was Celia Shaneyfelt, regional vice president of the American Gourd Society.

Members enjoyed her presentation entitled, “Using Gourds Throughout History.” Mrs. Shaneyfelt shared how gourds have been used through history to create a variety of objects such as musical instruments, kitchen utensils and birdhouses.
