U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From DuPont And M&M Mars

William “Jack” Jackson Phillips

William “Jack” Jackson Phillips, 81, of Chattanooga, Tennessee. passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Chattanooga, Jack was a 1961 graduate of City High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He was retired from Dupont and retired from M&M Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ruby Mae Humphreys Phillips; two sisters, Alice Mae Stinnett and Thedna Ann Crisp; two brothers, Leroy Phillips Jr. and Billy Joe Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Marie Wooten Phillips, two sons, Christopher Michael (Alyson) Phillips and John Derek (Jenny) Phillips; two sisters, Shirley Harmon and Diane Shelton; grandson, Caleb Michael Phillips; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Dementia Society of America in Jack’s honor.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Hearth Hospice and especially his caregivers Avis and Leona for all they did for Jack and the family .
