Hiram Beene Moore, MD Tennessee Historical Marker Dedication Is March 16

The South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society will dedicate a Tennessee Historical Marker for Hiram Beene Moore, MD this Sunday at 3 p.m. CDT in the 200 block of Elm Ave. in South Pittsburg. 

Special guests for the afternoon include Dr. Moore’s daughter, Clara Lynn Moore, and his office manager, Patsy Williams Taylor.

Dr. Moore opened his medical practice on Elm Avenue in 1946. The National Medical Association honored him in 1964 as “General  Practitioner of the Year,” and the city named Moore Park in his honor.
Dr. Moore retired in 2002.

All are invited to a reception in the Beene Pearson Library after the dedication.

Elm Avenue from Second Street to Third Street will be closed to through traffic that afternoon. Attendees may park in the paved lot beside the Fire Department or at the Dixie Freeze.
