Remember National Agriculture Day

  • Tuesday, March 18, 2025

National Agriculture Day is March 18. This annual event recognizes and celebrates the abundance provided by agriculture, acknowledging the essential role it plays in our daily lives.

In Tennessee the data released in 2024 shows Tennessee has 63,105 total farms, 10.7 million acres of farmland with the average farm size being 170 acres.

It is sad to me to see in the State of Tennessee the loss of farmland is 237 acres per day or 9.8 acres per hour. I remember the many farms that are gone in Apison where I have lived all of my life.
