Doris Tucker Bethune, 74, of East Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at home with her family by her side.

She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was a 1969 graduate of Kirkman High School. Doris was a United States Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. She worked many years at Universal Apparel and recently retired from Scenic View Properties.

Doris loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved animals, especially the many dogs she gave a home to throughout the years. Doris loved working in her floral and vegetable gardens every year and she cherished her time that she was able to spend at the beach with her family. Doris was also the one who would help anyone in need, and she knew how to be a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Tucker, and mother, Mary Tucker.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, David Bethune; two children, Joey (Christina) Bethune and Jason Bethune; brother, Joey (Ann Marie) Tucker; sister, Cheryl Tucker; six grandchildren, Chelsea (Hunter) Cordell, Haven Bethune, Perri Bethune, Lillian Tackett Bethune, Brelynn Bethune, and Cole Bethune; two great grandchildren, Dolly and Stetson Cordell; and several nieces and nephews.
