Beautiful fall weather brought crowds to the opening weekend of the annual Fall Color Cruise and Folk Festival.
The event is centered around cruises down the scenic Tennessee River to Shellmound Reservation on Nickajack Lake.
The Whites, the Osborne Brothers, Jim and Jesse & the Virginia Boys and the Nashville Bluegrass Band were among the first weekend performers.
Next weekend's talent includes Jack Greene & the Jolly Green Giants, Jeannie Seely, Stonewall Jackson, Ray Pillow and David Frizzell. Also, the stage show "Missing You," a tribute to Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline starring Larry and Sherrine Hester, will be featured.
The Fall Color Cruise has been a local tradition since 1969.
It is a fund-raiser for four units of Chattanooga's Alhambra Shrine Temple: the Motor Corps, Alhambra Clowns, Sequatchie Valley Shrine Club and the Cleveland Shrine Club.
Admission is free, and the Shrine benefits through donations, sponsorships and concessions.
CARTA shuttles are running from Ross's Landing to the festival site.
Fares are $5 one way and $6 round trip.
Cost of taking the riverboat is $30, including lunch, entertainment and one-way bus ride.
Colorful crafts - as seen through a film of plastic - at festival site.
