David Ellis, 72, of Signal Mountain, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, in a local hospital.
Mr. Ellis was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hixson. He was a homebuilder for many years as owner of Arrow Construction Co. David was the previous owner and operator of Diamond Building Supply in both Red Bank and Signal Mountain. After his retirement from the building supply business he started Arrow Auto Sales.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Washington and Myrtle Irene Long Ellis.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Ray Ellis; sons, Michael David Ellis of Soddy-Daisy and Ricky Ray Ellis of Signal Mountain; three grandchildren, Michael David Ellis II, Hunter Ryan Ellis and Nicholas Ray Ellis; one great-grandson, William David Ellis; brother, Raymond R. Ellis of Savannah, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. David McNabb officiating.
The interment will follow the service in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and then from 1 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153.
