Waylon H. Pope, 73, Lakeview, died on Monday, September 23, 2002.

Mr. Pope was a member of the Cloud Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Dixie Yarns in Chattanooga.

Survivors are his loving wife of 54 years, Annie Mae Bryan Pope; son, Mike (Bethe) Pope, Chattanooga; two daughters, Barbara Pope (Jimmy) Verhine, Ft. Oglethorpe, and Tina Pope (Scott) Carroll, Flintstone; six grandchildren, Eric Verhine, Lindsay Pope Pendergrass, Emily Verhine, David Pope, Marie Carroll, and Michelle Carroll; one great-grandson, Jaxon Pendergrass; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jerry Brown officiating.

Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 6-9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
