Jane Keese Ragland passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003.

Mrs. Ragland was an active member of First Centenary Methodist Church where she served faithfully in many capacities. She had also served on the boards of Girls Preparatory School, Little Miss Mag Day Nursery, Junior League of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Nature Center, and READ. A few years ago she received the Distinguished Alumnae Award from Girls Preparatory School. She was a member of the Junior League, the Garden Club, and the Review Book Club.

Mrs. Ragland is survived by her devoted husband, William E. Ragland, III; three daughters, Margaret Ragland, Julie Mills, Rebekah Montgomery; one son, William E. Ragland, IV, of Huntsville, Ala; two sons-in-law, Brent Mills and Rudd Montgomery; one daughter-in-law, Tabatha Ragland; six grandchildren, Wills Ragland, Tanner Ragland, Mariah Seaberry, Samuel Seaberry, Tyler Montgomery and Louise Rose Montgomery. She is also survived by two sisters, Carol Stephenson of Chattanooga, and Nancy Sims of Daphne, Ala.; as well as four nieces, one nephew, and seventeen grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Mrs. Ragland also left behind a host of loving friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will take place in the narthex of First Centenary Church on Monday, Dec. 1, from 5-7 p.m.

The funeral service will be at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. with the burial to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
