Helen Sargent Lane, 71, of Rock Spring, Ga., died Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at her residence.
She was a native of Blount County, Al., living in Chattanooga, Tn., before moving to Rock Spring, Ga., in 1966.
Mrs. Lane retired from T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital after 35 years of service as assistant to the Medical Director. She was a member of Burning Bush Baptist Church and the Believers In Christ Sunday School class.
Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her brother, J. T. Sargent.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bennie Lane; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen (Reinhold) Mann, Knoxville, Tn., Brenda (Brian) Hankins, Rock Spring, Ga., Kristy (Shane) Nelson, Chickamauga, Ga.; sisters, Annie Mae Ware, Corner, Al., Mary Ruth Ferguson, Gardendale, Al., sister at heart, Betty Sue Sargent, Gardendale, Al.; grandchildren, Ben and Bonnie Hankins, Jakob Mann and Lane Nelson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burning Bush Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Cappleman, Colin Crosen, Ron Jenkins, and Rev. Hoyt Jennings officiating. Interment will be in Burning Bush Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Believers In Christ Sunday School Class.
