Crime Stoppers: Theft Of Rings At Check, Jewelry And Loan

  • Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Chattanooga Police are looking for suspects who walked into the Check, Jewelry and Loan at 5712 Lee Hwy. and took a tray of rings from the jewelry counter with a value of $2,300.

On Oct. 10 around 4 p.m., police talked with an employee who provided an in-store video that showed a black male and a black female walk into the pawn shop. They walked around and looked for sometime, then hovered around the glass cases that contain jewelry.

The video shows both of them walk toward the front door and the man hands the woman the keys to the vehicle they were in. The man then walks back to the counter, reaches over the counter and slides the door open. He walks away as to see if the alarm goes off and, when it doesn’t, he returns, reaches over and takes a tray of assorted women’s diamond rings. The suspect then flees the store.
