Charles Love Out Of Federal Prison

  • Monday, July 28, 2008

Former County School Board member Charles Love is out of federal prison after serving less than a year.

He had been sentenced last August by a Memphis federal judge to serve one year and a day in the Tennessee Waltz sting.

Authorities said Love was the "bagman" who carried money to various politicians.

The FBI carried out the sting using a bogus company called E-Cycle.

Former County Commissioner William Cotton, a longtime Love associate, got a three-year term and is still in federal prison in South Carolina.
