Oren Charles Smith, 74, of Chattanooga, formerly of Livingston, Tn., died on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at his home.
He was a member of Tyner Church of Christ.
Charles was a former truck driver for East TN. Box Co. and received numerous safe driving awards throughout his years of overland transporting.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Otley and Ethel Smith; brothers, Lucien and Houston “Al” Smith; sister, Ann Willingham.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Smith; daughters and son-in-laws, Margaret (Paul) Perry and Martha (Michael) Palmer, all of Chattanooga; brother, Robert Smith, of Livingston, Tn.; sisters, Ruth Ledbetter, of Oliver Springs, Tn., Nell West, of Tulsa, Ok., Beatrice Nevins, of Livingston, Veatrice Mason, of Livingston; four grandchildren, Kenzie and Nate Perry, Nicholas and Caitlyn Palmer.
Graveside services and burial will take place in Freedonia Cemetery in Livingston, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, with Minister John Cupp officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A memorial services will be held on Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Tyner Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Orange Grove Center or to the Martin Boyd Christian Home.
