William “Bill” Lake, 72, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., died on Tuesday, October 13, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
He was an honest, straight forward man, who was blessed with many loyal and dear friends. He never met a stranger and if you met him once, you never forgot him.
Mr. Lake was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lois Lake, and sister, Peggy.
Survivors are his loving wife, Mary Frances Lake; children, Deborah (Jim) Dawson, Marietta, Ga., Darrell (Lynne) Lake, Dallas, Texas, and Deanette (Greg) Bryant, Brentwood, Tn.; grandchildren, Evan, Lake and Alyse Dawson, Cole, Chandler, Carson and Cade Lake and Casey Johnson, Ashton, William and Lawton Bryant; sister, Mary Ann Dunn; brother, Wayne (Betty) Lake; several nieces and nephews of Ringgold.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Atkins officiating. A graveside service will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Tunnel Hill.
