Officer Derrick Pendergrass, who was the subject of an internal affairs investigation, has resigned from the Chattanooga Police Department.

He had been on administrative leave awaiting the outcome of the investigation of "allegations of associating with members of the Outlaws motorcycle gang who were believed to be known felons, which is a violation of department policy."

Police said the internal investigation on Pendergrass stemmed from the ATF investigation into the Outlaws.
