Bluff View Art District will hold its annual Holiday Open House Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The event will include entertainment, activities, samples and shopping specials as well as opportunities for guests to win over $1,000 in prizes of Bluff View Art District gift certificates, free dining and overnight stays at Bluff View Inn.
The District's Holiday Open House is a time for the public to see all that Bluff View has to offer, from the visual arts to the culinary arts. In addition to its three restaurants, Bluff View Inn, River Gallery and River Gallery Sculpture Garden are open regular operating hours which are posted on their facebook fan page, www.facebook.com/BluffViewArtDistrict.
Bluff View Bakery and Rembrandt's Roasting Company will be open to the public Holiday Open House hours from 11 a.m.-5 p.m, for brief tours and general questions for its artisan bakers and master roasters, respectively. Samples of freshly baked breads and premium roasted coffees will be on hand. Strolling musicians will entertain guests throughout the day.
Each of the District's award-winning restaurants will have demonstrations, samples and activities for the family to enjoy. Rembrandt's Roasting Company will host a children's booth for holiday cookie decorating and letter writing to Santa on the Bocce Court Terrace above the roaster and adjacent to the Maclellan House.
Rembrandt's Coffee House will be selling their holiday gift boxes for a 10 percent discount on the day of open house only.
Tony's Pasta Shop & Trattoria will demonstrate how it makes its own fresh pasta for its signature dishes and will have samples of their cheese bread.
Back Inn Café, typically a dinner service fine dining establishment, will open its doors at 11 a.m. for seasonal wine flights and full bar offerings along with a special holiday lunch menu. They will resume full dinner service at 5 p.m.
The first floor of the main guest house of Bluff View Inn, the Maclellan House, will be open to the public for touring. Visitors are invited to stop into the mansion's parlor to sample hot tea and cookies baked fresh by the District's own pastry chefs.
Renaissance Commons, the District's event space, will be open for tours and guests may visit personally with the District's event coordinator as well as sample selected menu items from its event and catering chefs.
River Gallery kicks off their holiday sale during Open House, with 15 percent off most items throughout the gallery. Those bringing in canned food items or monetary donations for Community Kitchen will receive an additional 5 percent off their purchases. River Gallery will also host working artists Deanna Cain, Judy Klich and Micahel Thiele during this Friday's special event. Guests are encouraged to stay for live demonstrations and discussions with artists throughout the day.
