Brown International Academy Celebrates Einschulung

  • Friday, August 10, 2012

Brown International Academy, Tennessee's first International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme World School, will celebrate Einschulung on Monday at 8:30 a.m. in the school library.

Einschulung is a tradition celebrated by first grade students on their first day of school as a transition from kindergarten.  The Einschulung celebration includes a school program involving a play or presentation by older students and followed with a ceremony welcoming the students to the new year.

At Brown International Academy, representatives from German families will share a history of the celebration with the students. Parents and grandparents are invited to this event as well.

On this day, students also receive their Schultüte, which is a handmade cone shaped bag full of goodies, such as pencils, markers and erasers.
