Red Bank Sued Over Issue Of Access To Planned Apartment Complex

  • Thursday, May 22, 2014

The city of Red Bank has been sued over the issue of access to a planned apartment project of some 300 units.

The Chancery Court complaint was filed by Fatherson Holding Company and Bell Development Company.

It says in planning the project it was found that an additional entrance was needed at 1918 and 1924 Ashmore Ave.

Plaintiffs said they were assured by Red Bank City Manager Randall Smith and Public Works Administrator Tim Thornbury that they had a right to construct an entrance drive across the parcels to the site of the planned apartments. It said that position was later reversed.

A host of Red Bank residents appeared at a Red Bank Commission meeting opposing allowing the use of the entrance.
