CHI Memorial Medical Group announces Melinda Garcia-Rosell, M.D. has joined CHI Memorial Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates. Dr. Garcia-Rosell received her medical degree from University of Tennessee of Health Science Center where she also completed her residency and fellowship. Dr. Garcia-Rosell has certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine with a specialty in rheumatology.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Garcia-Rosell to our CHI Memorial staff,” says Glyn Hughes, CEO, Mountain Management Services. “With more than 100 types of rheumatic diseases, it’s important for patients to see someone who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of their disease.”
Rheumatologists diagnose and treat arthritis and other rheumatic diseases which affect the joints, muscles, bones and sometimes other organs in the body (e.g., kidneys, lungs, blood vessels, brain).
"Because these diseases are often complex, patients benefit from the care of an expert," officials said. "Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, musculoskeletal pain disorders, gout, fibromyalgia, certain autoimmune diseases, such as lupus, vasculitis, antiphospholipid syndrome, and scleroderma are a few of the conditions that can be effectively managed by rheumatologists."
