Charles Wigley
Charles Robert Wigley, 80, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
Born in 1935, in Dawson, Al., he moved to Chattanooga in 1953. He served in the United States Army Reserve and retired from Nabisco/Kraft after 29 years of service. He was an active member and lay leader of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church and a community volunteer at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen and Memorial Hospital Hixson.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gaynelle Hubbard Wigley; their daughters, Teresa (Kim) McDowell of Maryville, Tn., and Cindy (Joe) Fuqua of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandsons: Joe (Elizabeth) Fuqua of McDonough, Ga., and Jacob Fuqua of Maryville, Tn.; granddaughter, Brooke (Shane) Bailey of Conyers, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Allison and Brendan; brothers, Don (Thunda) Wigley of Amarillo, Tx., and Bill (Diane) Wigley of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial contributions may be made to Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, the Chattanooga Community Kitchen or to Hospice of Chattanooga.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace with Pastor Terry Huffer. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 p.m. on Friday.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
