Geraldine Leamon Ziegler, died on March 22, 2016. She was 89.

Mrs. Ziegler was born Eva Geraldine Leamon on May 23, 1926, to Anderson C. Leamon and Eva Gill Leamon. She was a graduate of Tyner High School, class of 1944. She served as the church and pastor’s secretary at Central Baptist Church, Woodmore (now Christway Community Church) for more than 40 years. She was a musician and served as organist at Central Baptist for several years, and as a supply in other area churches. She was an organist at Turner Funeral Home for many years, and previously at Wann Funeral Home. She was a volunteer organist for worship services at Moccasin Bend Mental Hospital since the 1980s. She was a member of the Chattanooga Music Club, Chattanooga Chapter of American Guild of Organists, and was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star, more recently at Sunnyside Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Leon Ziegler, and her beloved grandson, Ryan Jackson LaMar.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Jack) LaMar, her son, Terry (Cindy) Ziegler, two grandsons, Matthew (Julie) Ziegler, Andy Ziegler, granddaughter, Kathryn LaMar, great-granddaughter, Brooke Ziegler, great-grandson, Blake Ziegler. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Fay Ziegler, and brother-in-law, J.H. Gross, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, March 25, at New Monumental Baptist Church (formerly Central Baptist Woodmore) 901 Woodmore Lane. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
