Criminal Case Pending Against Former TDLWD Employee Lora Heath

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) announced Thursday the arrest of a former employee who allegedly committed identify theft while working for the state of Tennessee in Chattanooga.

An internal audit revealed the apparent wrongdoing in January 2015. The department addressed the isolated incident and terminated Lora Bradshaw Heath.

Local authorities in Chattanooga were notified of the alleged identity theft and following a criminal investigation, Ms. Heath was arrested and charged with theft of identity, theft of property and official misconduct.

TDLWD administrators worked with law enforcement throughout the investigation.  The case against Ms. Heath is pending in the court system.

TDLWD contacted the citizen whose identity was compromised and notified him/her of the fraudulent activity.  Measures were then taken to remedy any issues caused by this isolated incident.
